The crown has fallen off my Seamaster. I purchased a new one and I want to attach it to the winding-stem. The crown seems is threaded, but the stem is smooth. Am I supposed to use an adhesive to secure the crown to the stem?

If you have to ask, you should take it to a watchmaker.

If the stem is smooth (not threaded) you need a stem also. See a watchmaker.

Absolutely nothing with these watches is DIY. NOTHING. See a watchmaker.

(Tongue in cheek!) For sure, the more adhesive, the better! Then for sure you’ll have to do what you should have done in the first place! And that is to have a watchmaker do it.

Ah… I see now that a piece of the old crown is still threaded onto the winding stem. Thank you for your exceptionally sage advice.
