Looking for a Seamaster Pro quartz in good nick as a gift. This will be a "My First Omega" for a family member who is about to graduate from a demanding program, and we're looking for a robust SMP quartz in excellent condition, preferably with box, etc. Colours to be determined but less important than the condition, functional and cosmetic, of the watch. He is a diver, so will be using it in the water as well as out.

We are based between the UK and Canada, but in Canada now through the new year, so it will be shipped here.

Thanks for looking and best,

s

Something that might be relevant: Since you expect the recipient to dive with the watch, you'll almost certainly want to have it serviced and pressure-tested. If you send it to Omega, they should also restore the cosmetic appearance to be as close to "like new" as possible as part of the service. They'll also replace the movement with a new one I believe. So if you go that route, then you don't have to worry so much about the watch's current condition. I believe current service fee is USD 500, so that gives you around USD 1350 to work with. I don't know about Canadian Customs' Fees, but you might could squeeze under that with Japanese sellers. There was a recent thread here that listed many Japanese vintage dealers, some of which have web sites and will ship abroad.

Edited to add: And if you're willing to consider the mid-size version, you can definitely find those for well under USD 1350. Even on eBay and Chrono24.
