Seamaster planet ocean, why is the blue so dull?

In the online photos the watch has a very blue face and bezel. In real life it looks kind of dull. I haven't even worn it because I'm not sure I like it. I thought it was going to be a brighter blue like on the smp. Are any of these titanium watches more blue like the picture?? What are the general thoughts about these extra large planet oceans?

Just like my blue SM300 MC Ti..... it's dull in most lighting situations but looks superb in sunlight. Those stock photos are taken in bright light similar to sunlight.

Ah! Thanks, I've never had it outside to look. I actually bought it before the sm300 came out, wish I had waited lol

I love my 45.5 8500 Ti PO and have never found the blue to be dull- Is it possible that what you’re experiencing is because you still have the sticker over the dial??

I DO agree that the blue SM 300 MC has a different, dull matte blue that I did NOT like very much and that the Ti PO in full sunlight is glorious.

I think one man’s dull is another man’s glorious deep blue. 😀

I agree that I’ve never found the blue on the PO or the last gen Seamaster 300m pro to be dull - I actually prefer it without a lot of direct light. The depth of the blue is sublime. I find in direct sunlight it’s a little too bright and cheap looking.

But that’s me.

Just for comparison. It is a totally personal thing, but I love the blue on my 300 MC.

Here’s my 42mm. I love the blue. I dare say this is my favourite watch. it’s a different blue in every kind of light.

I had almost the exact opposite experience with this watch. I ordered it sight unseen knowing that I love my other POs. When it finally showed up at my AD I was kinda underwhelmed - mostly because I thought it was way too blue! Turns out those insanely expensive lighting systems in jewellery shops are meant to make faceted stones look good (and do very little for watches).

After I got it home and was thinking I had buyers remorse it caught the light in such a way that now I could never even entertain the idea of not having one (and have in fact influenced two buddies to buy them as well). To me it's the perfect watch with the perfect dial and bezel.

And, what I love about it is that I thought it matched the blue used on the vintage Seamasters so closely!

My PO (showing how it looks in low light - almost silver blue) and my dads Big Blue:

Yes, I make the same experience with mine. Perfect blue in every lighting condition.
