Just a question to piggy back---what is the historical significance of a crosshair on a dial? Does it have a military purpose, aesthetic, etc.?

It's a genuine Omega dial, just a two tone and not a pie pan.

Who knows why crosshair dials exist? It's a fashion thing. If you know somebody that can explain bell bottoms rationally, let us know and we'll get them started on watch trends.

Cross hair and reticles exist in all things manly. Gun sights, telescopes, periscopes to name a few. Put one on a watch and now you are "truly much man".

So it was you I was bidding against? I'm wearing this now. Far from expert, I just liked it. It is a solid champagne? face. Already replaced the band with a leather one. Already had strangers say "nice watch"

Thanks! This is my first "real watch". Truly enjoying wearing it. I don't know if I will become a collector but I can see how this could become addictive.
