Seamaster Frankenstein?

Hello everyone,

Came across this and would love everyone’s input. The watch case is what appears to be gold and caseback is silver. The dial is a seamaster but the movement is a 551 which I believe came on Constellation ref. 167.005.

I feel this watch was a constellation pieced together with a sea master dial and caseback for whatever reason….

thoughts?

Redialed and over polished gold-capped 166.003 with the wrong movement. Crap on toast.

FYI, gold-capped cases normally have stainless steel backs, so that's not a problem.

Thanks so much. The dial looks like a bumper from the 50s. I didn’t see much 166.003 no dates……possible they just put this random bumper dial on a 551 movement?
