I have Seamaster 2254.50, purchased in 2007. Since I bought the watch, I enjoyed wearing the watch for around 10 years. After I bought my Apple Watch in 2017, I haven't worn the Seamaster much. Just recently, my interest in my Seamaster is rekindled. The watch is getting serviced now. And I cannot wait to get it back so I can wear it.

2254.50 has sword hands, large numbers on bezel, and comes with speedy bracelet. I put this on aftermarket leather strap.

I didn't follow-up on the Omega Seamaster since. I read about co-axial movement and the ceramic bezel. I'm curious to understand the models that were released since my watch. I'm not so interested in Planet Ocean (too large for me) or the 300 (not my style).

1996-2008. I believe they were discontinued in 2008 or soon after, but not sure. I'm quite familiar with these as I looked at both of these before I bought the 2254.50:
2254.50 (Black dial, Peter Blake style sword hands, large numbers on bezel, with speedy bracelet)
2231.80 (Bond version - Blue dial, skeleton hand, small numbers on bezel, and bond bracelet)

Which Seamaster model came right after 2254.50 and 2231.80? I did internet search and found these 2. But not sure if these came right after and how they fit in the series. Hard to find info on these.
    2220.80 (Blue dial with co-axial 2500)
212.30.41.20.01.002 (Black dial with co-axial 2500). This has skeleton hands, like the blue version.
I believe these have steel bezel, small bezel text (just like 1st Gen Bond), wave dial (like 1st Gen), but with applied indices (new).
Are these 2 equivalent models with different dial colors? The naming convention is very different. And the black version model ID is very similar to 2nd Gen below, but dial face and bezel are different

2012-2017: co-axial 2500, ceramic bezel with large text, no wave pattern, applied indices.
    212.30.41.20.01.003 (Black dial)
    212.30.41.20.03.001 (Blue dial)

2018-2021: co-axial 8800 with master chronometer and METAS certification, ceramic bezel with large text, new bold wave pattern, applied indices
    210.30.42.20.01.001 (Black dial)
    210.30.42.20.03.001 (Blue dial)

Thanks for the link. For blue dial, 2220.80 did come after 2231.80. Anyone know the black dial equivalent of 2220.80?

I would say it's the one you mention above... 212.30.41.20.01.002 - 41mm, wave dial, applied indices, skeleton hands, 2500 co-ax, bond bracelet, aluminum bezel insert - seems very much like the 2220.80 but black and not blue.

edit: skeleton, not sword hands as I'd originally written it
