Hi all - a gold Seamaster De Ville was recently handed down to me. Attached are a few pics.

Anyone have any idea what year it is from?

Also, was wondering if anyone had ideas for a new strap that would give it a more modern look.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Looks like it’s from the 60’s that’s as close as I can tell you. Any number after the 6 would be a guess on my part. Someone will tell you exactly. Looks like you have some damage to the lugs maybe somebody had a metal spiedel band on it. The dial looks nice. It’s always nice receiving a hand me down

This is a midsize model, dating to ca the mid 1960s, caliber 670/671. Exact model and movement information is inside the watch.

Stainless steel version is ref 165.004.

Correct strap size is 17mm, which will limit your choices, just pick something you like.

11/16, not 17mm, though they usually fit.

eBay sellers have a large number to choose from.

No, 17mm, this is an international case not a US case.

Just get an 18mm strap that you love. It’ll fit. Better to be a mm too big than too small.

Black or brown alligator or crocodile. 11/16 is 17.25m so any of those will also fit... expand your range of choices, as it were.
