I am sure there was but the quick set date function is to simply pull the crown out and back in and it advances.. does seem a dangerous task on an old watch!
yes that's exactly it, and I admit having a little trepidation every time I pull on the crown.
I would have found it nice to have a booklet with clean drawings that explain the use.
I have the user guide for my premoon and I have never seen other models.
I’ve always wondered how stressful this actually is for the mechanism. The mechanical click of proceeding the date this way feels more intense than the method of later movements, in which you just turn the crown in the second crown position.

I’ve had the same question. I’ve assumed that Omega made this date setting method relatively problem free, and I haven’t seen threads where owners are saying they have broken. But still, it feels dangerous.
Maybe one of the watchmakers will weigh in.
