Hi

I'm looking for a replacement crystal for my 1970 Seamaster Cosmic case reference 166.026. Does anyone know what size I need and where I can buy a replacement.

Thanks Stephen

With the case model number, pretty well any watch material supply would know what you need. Do you have an inserter? If there is a crystal in the watch, are you able to remove it?

Hi

Thanks. I do have the tools to remove and insert the crystal though I've read some articles that suggest using the crystal lift tool for insertion and some suggest using a press so not quite sure which is the safest way to go.

You don't say what case material you have...people always leave this out...

Assuming it's steel, the crystal is part #063PZ5123 - GLASS PLEXI ST RING D32.94 H4.9.

I would highly recommend getting a genuine Omega crystal, as the tension ring is typically stepped on Omega crystals and not having that can cause you problems.

As for an "inserter" this is a tension ring crystal so the proper way to install it is using a press.

Cheers, Al
