I'm considering buying it.

It's a genuine Omega "hummer" and looks to be in reasonable condition.
Be aware though that the movement can be problematic if it requires rectification for any problems and may require expertise by professionals familiar with these tuning fork movements.

Google Omega 198.0053 to see other examples and get an idea of current prices.

I'm considering buying this. Why would it be worth only £200?
It was a brief response to your brief first post.
@p4ul thought they'd spend as much time on their answer as you did on your first post, is I guess he just plucked a price out of the air.

Because it is quartz, not mechanical and shows significant signs of use (cracked or badly scratched crystal, being one)

You can find similar ones on Chrono24 for around £200.

Good to know that it's authentic. What do you mean that the movement can be problematic? And how much would you pay for this watch?
This can chew up a lot of my time.
You obviously know nothing about tuning fork watches but you want to buy one.
I suggest, that in order to save yourself some pain, you focus on a style/brand and then research that to death so that you can make decisions based on your investigations.

When you think you have a candidate, you can present it here for our advice (before you buy it).

Understandable. I unfortunately don't have that much more information on the watch. A watch collector is selling it and it has been owned by only one previous person. The battery has been changed 10 months ago and with it the watch's overall functionality as well.

It's not a quartz watch.

Edit: Just for clarification.

A cursory look at completed items on eBay gives you..£200 - 400.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=Omega+f300&LH_Complete=1

After that, it depends how badly one desires a watch, this one - to me - has little desirability. YMMV.

You might want to do a search on here to expand your knowledge before spending?

OP, forum etiquette is, you delete the subject of a thread, you have to buy drinks for all the contributors next time you meet.

Why?
What could ever posess a poster delete their original post? What's the point?
On the negative side anyone searching for advice is denied access to the Q & A of the post. Other's can not learn from what's written here.
On the positive side; nothing.

@copeloussis deleting your question/pictures is considered very bad form as it stops the thread being of use to anyone else seeking similar answers.

Smash and grab. Got what he wanted and did a runner. But why delete the post?

Edit: Just for clarification.

You are correct, that one uses a "tuning fork", not a quartz crystal..
