Hello everybody , I have just subscribed, but I have been reading this forum for a long time

I would like to have your opinion about this watch I am going to buy for about 2000 euros.
Is the watch all right (I know I have to change the glass)? What about the price?

Thank you for your help

Great forum, by the way!

Looks pretty nice. Edges of the case look nice and sharp from what I can see.

With a 321, you probably want to see the movement if possible.

Do you know anything about service history?

Judging from what these and similar seamasters go for on ebay, that seems like a good price.

I'm not familiar enough with them to comment on originality of hands and stuff, but they look like they fit.

I suspect redial, as there isn't a tachymetre scale around outside of dial. I would be very cautious of this with out seeing movement and inside of case back.

Thank you for your replies.
I don't know anything about service history, but I would have it serviced after the purchase.
About the dial: I have seen other Seamaster without the tachymetre scale on the dial (maybe there are different versions of the dial), but I am not 100% sure about that, so if someone have more informations I would appreciate it.

It's most likely got a caliber 861 inside, but a few early versions had the 321.

Ed, there were variations of this dial with and without the tachymetre ring. What worries me more is the inking looks a little thick but that's probably the photos. After magnifying the first image it looks kosher to me.

Get us some pics of the guts man!

Oh, and the price is a little high but not out of the ballpark.

Looks like you posted the same time as I did.

Yes, there are dial variations. I've owned one or two (ha! 😜) of those and examined at least a couple dozen over the years. If I were a betting man - which I am on rare occasions (double ha!) - I'd wager it's a fine watch based on the pictures.

However, I want to see the inside of the caseback and the caliber with clean pictures so I can make a better assessment.

Are you sure this is the correct reference number? I've seen these with both Seamaster and De Ville on the dial and with no scale but in a 145.005. I'm with the others, can you get pictures of the case back and definitely the movement? It would answer a lot of questions. Price seems very reasonable if it all checks out.

Quick addition, price is good if it's a 321 but decent (but fair) if it's an 861. Let's see some more photos!

I think this watch is a 105.004-64. I own a few 321 seamasters but not this reference. Every image on Google shows a tach dial. Should certainly have a 321 movement. Even so, the dial is a major issue.

Of course you have to open it up. Perhaps this is not a 105.004? There were many references of seamasters

The lugs on the 105.004s are wider and are different. Here's mine for comparison.

It looks like a 145.005. Still a nice piece!

Yeah that caseback looks like 105.005 to me. Google Image search says the dial should have the tachy painted on.

Yes, from the caseback it's a 145.005.
I hope the dial is also correct (though less beautiful) without the tachy.
What do you think about the movement?

I think the caseback might indicate a 145.005-67. There are a few pics online where the dial of the de ville has no tach dial.

The movement is a 321 caliber which is correct. You should ask for better photos. These aren't very good. You should be able to make put the serial number and caseback reference number without guessing. A clearer pic of the movement would show potential issues as well
