Seamaster Chrono 105.005: Where to start?

Came across a photo of a 60s Omega Seamaster Chronograph (ref 105.005) with the silver dial, 321 movement and beads of rice bracelet a few months back, and realized I just had to have one. Been casually looking for one but have yet to find a decent example. Anything specific to look out for with this reference? Thanks all!

They not infrequently have refinished dials, so view many examples before pulling the trigger.

I had one last year that was just about as perfect as they come. A specimen.
You can check it out here and use it as a reference to compare with any other example you might come across.

Good luck on the hunt!

This is a relatively plentiful reference, if you are patient you should be able to find a mint example. The gold plated ones are the most out-of-favor ones, so if you don't mind them, you can have one of those for the price of a couple of Connies.😉

The gold plated examples are quite nice, but I definitely prefer the look of the steel version. Much more of a daily wear kind of look.

I remember seeing that listing a few months ago. That was/is a stunner.

I also would suggest to look for a 105.004-65, in my opinion the case design is handsome!

I like those as well, but I prefer the lug design of the .005

I'm also on the hunt for one. They are sooo sexy looking. I prefer the .005 as well, but if a .004 happens to make it my way... 😬 Unfortunately, the prices just keep going up and can be from 3.5k to 15k. One sold in the Bay for 2.5k in December but I missed it.

These really are super handsome watches. Hard to beat the value when you consider the technology inside and the availability of parts/knowledgeable people to keep them in good running condition.
