·Hi I'm new to this forum and would like to say hello. I would also like to ask for some advice. I've taken up watch repair as a hobby after retiring. Down through the years I've collected a few watches, mainly automatics. I have three Omegas and its an old Seamaster that I'm having trouble with.
The watch movement comes out of the case from the front.. The case number is 166 020 and has a 565 movement. It has a plain chromed bezel and my problem is it's very loose. What I need to know is should there be a gasket between the case and the bezel. The bezel outside diameter and case is 34.25mm. the bezel inside diameter is 33mm the case corresponding outside diameter is 32.73. This difference is 0.27. There is some corrosion to the case and I wondered if this corrosion is the reason for the bezel being so loose. I am going to service the movement but before I start I would like to know what to do. Thanks in advance. Ray
