Chronograph or chronometer? A chronograph is like a stop watch. A chronometer is simply a regular watch that's been certified to be accurate within preset standards.

A picture will help us think better. ;)

sorry the ghronograph is stuck at 59 seconds, but i find out if you shake the watch before it reaches the 59 seconds it will pass that and after that it works just fine. but for now it,s not working for the first 1 minute.
    Thanks

    Have you wound it enough?

Use the crown. Your manual will tell you what position the crown has to be in to (1) wind the watch, (2) set the date, and (3) rotate the hands to set the time.

Automatic watches do not fully wind themselves within minutes. The self winding system is there more to keep it wound. The watch uses more power to run the chronograph, which is why it starts running again after you shake it - you're moving the winding rotor enough to create that power in the mainspring.

    First mechanical watch, eh?

You can use the chronograph as soon as you wind it properly.

    Nice watch!

In automatic watch we can power up by using it or winding it. If you want to test chronograph, I suggest winding it at least 30 turns (don't worry you won't over winding it).

I also make this kind of mistake with my moon watch manual winding. When I wear and test it first time I worry because its power reserve only last 24 hour while factory spec is 52 hour. I almost return the watch. Luckily I asked this forum first. Turn out I only wind it 30 times while full winding needs 100 times to be full.
