Seamaster 600?

I’m challenged at posting photos.
I have a Seamaster given to me in 1968 as new. Several years ago I had it serviced. They cleaned the dial so well that “Omega”, Seamaster 600 disappeared.
Last service noted cal 611 (1964) and model 136.01. the back of the case is plain.
I notice most Seamaster’s here have markings on the back.
Should mine be marked?

Welcome Neal,

Not all Seamaster’s were marked on the back- most were. Shame about the dial being cleaned.
Best way to take pictures of watches with your phone is to bring it it into bright light (usually outside in high overcast or bright shade), and keep the camera away from the watch by a foot or two and zoom in, tap on the screen to focus on the watch, then snap a few to get the best one.

I know we say that not all Seamasters had caseback engravings but I do think that all 34mm Seamaster 600’s, ref 135.011 had the hippocampus. I can’t recall seeing one that had a smooth back.

The smaller 31mm versions (ref 131.009) did have the smooth back.

Can’t be sure from your photos but I’d say it’s likely the caseback has just been polished which has removed the logo. They weren’t etched very deeply.

First thing first, welcome to OF!

My smaller version 32mm of Seamaster 600 136.012 with cal.611 has hippocapus logo on caseback. Good pictures of the watch will clear the situation.
