    Hello,

I have an Omega Seamaster 600 which has a strange marking stamped on the back of the case beside the Seamaster logo (see attached photos).

I have taken the watch to a few jewellers but no one that I have spoken to has seen this mark before.

If anyone has any ideas as to its significance I would be appreciative.

Also, the watches serial number is not listed on the Omega database. Does anyone know what information is returned from the archive pull and what are your thoughts on whether it is worth doing?

Things I know about the watch are:
    Model: Seamaster 600
    Year of Manufacture: 1965
    Calibre: 601

    Regards

There's something a little off with just about everything on that watch. ::confused2:: The fonts and locations of the text, the hippocampus engraving.... I'd like to see the inside of the caseback and the movement.

I've seen that case back a couple times, but can't for the life of me remember what the logo was, a foreign military or railroad, something like that.

Dial looks refinished to me, re-lumed at the very least.

Please see attached for photos of the movement & inside of case.

We had 2 theories about the mark. Interestingly the first was that it could be Masonic as the triangle in circle search on Google did bring up a few Freemason symbols.

The second was that the watch could be a special edition of some sort. This seems to make more sense as it looks like it was done at manufacture as the seamaster logo is off centre to make space for it.

Okay, 135.011 jives with the 60x caliber and the shape of the lugs.

Congrats, you have a military issued watch. That is an Afghanistan Air Force marking.

Thought I'd lay some Zenith arcane knowledge mojo on you Omega guys. Zenith were the other suppliers to the AAF.

Yes. As you ought to know, since you helped pay for it. Our tax dollars at work.

Although at the time of this watch, it was our parents' tax dollars. After that it was Soviet tax dollars. And now it's our turn again. Keeping the AAF in fine mechanical timepieces since the 1970s.
