Seamaster 300m ➡️ my experience

Hi, I've been a Seamaster fan and owner for some years, as well as Rolex.

My history with Omega began 10 years ago with a 2254, the classic sword hands, then I got the blue ceramic 300m at 41mm it was perfect, later on when the big watch craze came up I got a 45.5mm PO black ceramic, but I couldn't handle it for more than a year, so I got a 43.5mm 8900 PO and loved it for a couple of years, but I never could fell in love with it, and the original 300m (Bond) was always in my mind (yes I'm a huge Bond fan)

So finally I got the new Blue Seamaster 300m and I'm highly enamored with it, it's the watch that made me fall in love with Omega since the beginning and is the one that will always be in my collection.

I love everything about this one, and it's a huge upgrade over the 41mm ceramic I had, the 42mm case fits much nicer and still remains thin and comfortable, unlike the PO wich is thick and heavy

The dial is a beauty and captures your eyes in a glamorous way, I love the return of the wave dial and the redesign on the classic bond hands are better than ever. Also the date at 6 is a big plus for me since one of the requirements for me to use a watch is a Date complication

The ceramic bezel, is much nicer that the matte black 9500 PO (very dull) and with the white enamel numbers now are much more visible that the outgoing model, and easier to eperate and turn.

I don't like alum or matte bezel, I prefer the perpetual beauty of a polished ceramic bezel

And the bracelet is what makes this watch an icon, so unique and original that it is for me, the highlight on this watch, and the new version looks much more solid, modern, better finished and comfortable, and the micro adjustable clasp is a joy to use.

I also got the blue rubber strap, but I'm a bracelet guy myself and don't see myself changing this watch to rubber, while it makes it very comfortable, It makes it looks ordinary IMO, for that I have my Garmin Forerunner.

The lume is awesome, the blue color and the green minute hand last a long time like a torch

Thanks for reading, I'll be posting more pics and updated opinions, and for all my pics follow seamasterrolex on Instagram.

Hadn't realized that the AT strap fits the SMP Diver so well. Mine's been on rubber for ages but will look into the straps next time I'm looking to change things up.

I'm squarely in the middle of a Marinemaster 300 love-fest these days, but the SMP is such a versatile piece and still a relative value in the luxury diver market (though with recent price rises in some markets, I guess that may change).

You have to kind of bend the spring bars a little bit for the AT strap. I like the feel of the original SS but I really wish it was tapered. I’ve been threw 5 different straps and the AT is absolutely the best looking in my opinion.

Nothing beats the bracelet IMO

The #bond bracelet polarizing yet unique, iconic, original, comfy, I love it.
And the new version is much nicer, flatter, modern and better finished.

I like how it feels, the rubber is comfy but cheapens the experience IMO

Disappointed me after always owning the 200m & 300m versions of the Seamaster.
Bought the black wave version with both bracelet and rubber. Bracelet ruined it for me, too bulky for the watch. Also the watch itself just didn't do it for me.
Bought a new PO, best watch I've ever had.

The Seamaster 300m is (IMO) unquestionably the best value in all of horology that can be bought new (not considering resale).

Being that it is still regularly discounted 5-20%, there is no way in hell this should be a $4000-5000 watch brand new with warranty. Especially in a market where demand for luxury watches has exploded. Nothing even comes close value wise. 300m resistance, METAS certified, Open caseback, date complication, beautiful waved dial, stout metal bracelet, brand recognition. There are brands with off the shelf movements that approach the price point of the Omega Diver now.

This watch retails for a whopping $3950 less than a Submariner Date. When adjusted for discount, it is literally half the price of the Rolex (which I love). Regardless of where you stand from a subjective design standpoint, the 300m sits at the top of the bang for your buck platfor,. It's a stunning piece which gets me more than my fair share of compliments to be sure.

the actual retail is $5,200 and the days for 15-20 % discounts are almost thing of the past, Omega is tightening on it, but i agree with your opinion on that with this watch you get every penny you pay.

On point for sure, absolutely. However, even with the evaporation of high margin discounts, very few people are spending over 5k for this watch. I would bet the current sale price average is around $4700. I should have put “no way in hell this is a $4500-5000 watch actual sale price” You are still seeing far greater discounts on this model (and other Omegas) , then you do with Tudor, GS, and obviously Rolex. I just got 15% off a 3861 sapphire sandwich a few weeks ago, which is more in demand than the 300M. I paid just over $4400 for my gray dial 300m, though it was admittedly before the factory margin reduction.

US veterans can buy omega watches tax free through aafes(shopmyexchange.com) waaaayy below retail, $4129 for steel bracelet and $4029 for the rubber version! I ended up getting mine for $3,729 when they had a 400 discount sale!

I got mine for $3232 but AAFES only had the rubber strap version for sale then. It was a 24 hour 20% additional discount on selected watches. I put mine on an Uncle Seiko flat link.
