Seamaster 300hz not working?

Hello I have a seamaster 300hz that's not working. When I opened it up I saw it had a renata 386 not the 344 and I was worried it short circuited or the battery leaked.

I replaced with 344 and no new movement.

How do I figure out how to fix this and/or what's wrong?

Thanks for your help I inherited it from my father and I'd love for it to be ticking again
I've added some photos

Well it's never going to "tick".
Is the battery the right side up?

If not that, these things are pretty finicky and require a specialist. Post where you are located and someone can point you to a repair shop.

When you try and set the time, do the hands rotate smoothly or jerk around? I was once told if they jerk around, it’s jiggered and that was certainly true with the one example I owned.

Yes, that’s exactly what happened recently with my cal 1250 - so, off to the specialist it went.

I just had an accutron 218 go from fine to humming, but no hand movement. It gives me hope that something just needs alignment, but who knows.
There's a dude in Vietman that works on these things for reasonable money and I have a local that may help.

I think you mean Rob B in Thailand.

You should hear a humming sound if you get your ear near to the watch, and from the 3rd photo you show, the tuning fork looks to be humming. If it's humming but the hands don't move, then something is likely wrong in the index mechanism.

If you’ve replaced the battery and it’s still not working, then I’d send to a hummer specialist (as above) for repair. These are not easy to fix movements and parts are obsolete, unless you know what you are doing, you could potentially cause more harm than good.

Thanks all, I'll answer some questions below

I'm located in Canada
The hands seem to move smoothly

How can you tell it's humming from the photo?

It doesn't seem to make any noise

He may think the tuning forks look blurry in the photo at magnification implying movement?

As Bruce235 said, you can tell from the motion blur cause by the vibration of the fork. Comparing the 2nd and 3rd photo, you'll see it. It's not always reliable of course.
