    good morning all,

I'm looking to extent my collection on my list is a seamaster 300. I have did a bit of research and found theres a lot of very good fakes out the so much that even to the trained eye they might look authentic, what should I be looking out for given these watches are going for between 3-4k upwards.

    Thank
    Steve

    Good Morning Alpha,
I’m looking for a vintage Seamaster 300. Since my search started 5 month ago I’ve been offered some very suspect 300 I’m almost at the point that I’m thinking I’ll see what the Munich show bring later on in the year.
    Thanks Steve

    Hello,
I am looking for a Watchco Seamaster 300 (no date), too. I just wrote them, but my e-mail was rejected (Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently), although if I used the e-mail address showed on their website. Do you have any info on that issue? Thanks indeed.

I believe Watchco are all sold out now. Their last 10 pieces were part of a group buy on here about 6 months or a year ago. They had their remaining parts stock on an eBay account but I haven't seen anything listed by them in a few months - http://www.ebay.com/sch/abouttime-ch/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

The website is inactive. They told me they leave it up for reference. Message their eBay account Abouttime-ch.

Try this: [email protected] or [email protected] or [email protected]. I have dealt with all three. They may not have the parts to build you a SM300 anymore, at least not the movement for sure. But give them a shout. Most recently I was dealing with Rob. The [email protected] address is for Marcus, the owner.

Thank you all for these very prompt and kindest reply - I previously tried with [email protected], but as mentioned, it didn't work. Will follow your kind advice now. Fingers crossed (almost all I have) - the alternative, to look for a properly vintage 300, looks far too difficult for me, in terms of money, know-how and availability...

You can buy all of those parts separately from Otto Frei except for the movement....

Just checked, all available except the dial for Caliber 550/552... you can still get the dial for the caliber 565 (date version).

Yes, but I'd have to find a competent, reliable watchmaker accepting to test and duly build the whole thing together.

You'll need one anyways when it comes time for routine servicing. Might as well be the same guy who built it to begin with.

Agree. They kindly replied me this morning, saying they only have date models, not non-date ones.
