Funny thing is that I have a 26.9 serial with 1969 production date with a C type bezel.
Are you the first owner?

I may have answered my own question, watchco/abouttime have 166.024 dated (19) 67 on sale at this time, which would indicate that the 166.024 SP wasn't the final production run Omega made of the 300.

Unless Omega finished making case backs for the 300 in 1967 and used those in succeeding final models not to be confused with the replacement case back 166.0324, which I think was run up in the late 90's,correct me if I'm wrong on that point.

Why I ask is that if I fitted a 166.024SP to my 69, 300 would that be period correct ?

This 4 looks better and closer to first gen 4 than any other fake I've seen, maybe a little bit too pointed ha ha

Great update on the F types, very interesting about the RN SM300's having a lot of F4's.

Hi everybody, this is my first thread here, and I would like to share some information I collected over the years about Seamaster 300 165024 and 166024 bezels:

EDIT:

There are apparently many F-type (https://omegaforums.net/threads/rn-sm300-f-s-phillips-auction-geneva-13-14th-may.56782/#post-701593):
- F1 with a pointed triangle
Produced as early as 1967 and 24M serial numbers but very rare compared to C-D-E-types.
- F2 with a rounded triangle and bolder numbers.
Most common from 1969 and as a replacement in the 70ies and 80ies.
- F3 similar to F1 but without minute markers (all black but triangle and numbers).
Rarest.
- F4 similar to F1 with a broader triangle
Extremely rare, mostly on Royal Navy / Ministry of Defence.
- F5 a blue version similar to 166.073 bezel insert.

Here is a F1 F2 comparison (both bezels taken on the same picture, same scale):
Hello many thanks for the table. Great job sincerely. I own a ref 165024 (and not 165.024) with 20million cal 552 bought in France June 1964 and the bezel is correct with your type A table. I still have the original box and papers. Rds
