Seamaster 2937-1 problematic oxidation

Hello everyone,
I'm new to your forum and an Omega fan. I didn't see if there was an introduction page, but here's my problem: my watchmaker just serviced and re-plated my small timepiece that I bought last year. Unfortunately, the new plating is coming off. According to my watchmaker, the case is oxidized from the inside. I wanted your opinion and to know if a replacement case is readily available.
Thank you.

Omega does not generally stock replacement cases this old. It may be possible to find one on eBay, but that may take years.

What concerns me is the comment, "the case is oxidized from the inside". That says to me is that the re-plating company didn't properly prepare the case after removing the original plating, or the re-plating job was too thin to last.

Thank you for your feedback. Apparently, he tried to apply a bit more pressure to the copper layer to fill in as many imperfections as possible. He told me the metal was soft, which is possible if it's oxidized from the inside. I'm looking on eBay, but I think, as you said, it's likely to take a very long time. In short, I'm disappointed because I have a nice patinated dial and a serviced movement, but a non-functional case. The case reference is 315.164. Do you think I could find this part on this forum?

2917 is the case reference, 315,164 is the Swiss Patent number for the caseback.

No one is likely to have one of these sitting around, I’m afraid. Your best bet is to find another Ref. 2917 watch with a bad dial and acceptable case on eBay and hope to get it cheap.

I just don’t see this being worth the money to buy a whole watch.

Thanks for the clarification. I don't think microsoldering would solve the problem either, plus the prices are very high due to the enormous amount of preparation work involved. What do you think about sending the case to another company to have the plating redone?
