Dear fellows,

today I found a beautiful Seamaster from the middle of the 50ies with a clean waffle dial. It is a double reference 2646-6, 2648 with steel midcase and rose(?) gold indices and hands. Housing a cal. 491 with s swan neck regulator. Dial seems to be original to me but opinions are more than welcome since these are not my regular collecting field. Also please comment on the hands and crown. I believe hands and lume dots are radium. So far I have found two other examples during my web research, which show identical hands and crown. The case looks unpolished since the facets on the lugs are present. Crystal shows a narrow feet Omega symbol, so I believe it is also original. The movement looks very clean to me and has a 15.42 mil serial number, which dates it to app. 1957.

I am very happy with the purchase but also open to all comments on the watch regarding originality from expierienced members here.

Thanks for reading, commenting and enjoy the pics,

kind regards, Max

Looks very nice. It’s a 2848 by the way, while the case is indeed double stamped, the 2846 is the centre second version Hence the SC letters next to that.

What exactly does centre second mean, im currently looking at a watch that is also double stamped, a 1956 with an 1SC, ive also made a post about the watch asking for some advice in regards to prices, im stunned by how knowledgeable some are here!! I'm so happy to ahve found this forum.
