Hello, I have been away for a long time. I used to find this a perfect source for knowledge. I stumbled into this watch. I have the original myself. I tried to find any differences and I cannot find any. Does anybody see a reason to believe this is not genuine?

Thanks,

Maybe add some better pictures of the movement and dial if possible?

I think the issue here is low res photos and the movement details are out of focus.

Sorry. All I have. I also tried to do it the other way around and looked online for replica’s of this rather specific 2016 Olympic Seamaster and could not find any so perhaps that way proved it the other way around?….

My opinion is a replica.
Original from the web:

Yours appears to be a Miyota derivative.

Thanks. Funny thing is that I have an original 8500 and it has the same little “thingy”…..

You are now making me very nervous. I have this watch. All in including original box and card and the whole thing. I tried to make a sort of macro photo with more light and in my watch I also do not see this little thing (is it a lever or so?). Which would imply I bought a fake through real channels????

I don’t recall Omega issuing an Aqua Terra for the 2016 Rio Olympics; only the Bullhead, 300M Diver and (according to my daughter) “the very pretty” Speedy MKII with gold/silver/bronze sub-dial rings. This later “Rio” model was the only one shown in the 2015 Omega catalog; at least in Germany.

If you have an original Rio Aqua Terra it would be interesting to see the cards and reference numbers for it.

Your images are not of a genuine movement.

It is the 231.10.42.21.03.006

it has the Copacabana pattern in the dial. I think it was sold at the other side of the world.

this is the link:
https://www.omegawatches.com/watch-...r-co-axial-chronometer-41-5-mm-23110422103006

edit, the info from Rio 2016 was clearly wrong. I think I got it wrong since the seller referred to the pattern as the Copacabana beach pattern. My bad.
Odd. Your link works, but when I copy/paste that reference number from your link into the search field the Omega site fails to find it, despite working for the 300M Rio model. I don’t recall Bruno aka Riviera Paradise (was/is? based in Rio) ever mentioning it either.

Omega 8500 calibre has a free sprung balance thus a regulator lever is not there (is not needed).
"The thing" (lever) is needed in fakes as they do not have free sprung balances.

Also, mind a direction how the stud screw is installed:

Yours

With all due respect, I doubt your 8500 is the original Omega calibre.

As they say in the NFL, “upon further review,” it’s definitely a fake. Originally I didn’t want to stare at blurry images to try and discern details. However, as others have noted, there’s a regulator in your movement photos. That watch is Fake McFakington. If your watch is similarly equipped, you’re sporting a “clone” (read, “cheaply made fake watch built with child slave labor”) and have been had.

Looks like the serial number is 87663888...maybe you can confirm?

If so, we have a problem...

Serial number: 87663888
Article ref: 43133412101001

That serial number is for a DeVille Hour Vision.

Yes you are right about the serial number. I bought the whole set including box and warranty card last year. Up to now I was the proud owner. I feel literally sick about this. I will be contacting the seller (through C24). Bottom line I am screwed here for 3.5k!!!!

Ouch, that really sucks. This long after a sale, with a guy who was selling $100 fakes... I doubt they are still on C24, and I doubt they'll be able to do anything for a transaction that old.

Sorry dude.
