The dial is a correct variant for these references Darren - what else were you trying to find out?

I have to admit that I prefer the grey dialed version that is almost holographic - depending on your angle of vision, it can appear anywhere from grey to gold.

image.jpg image.jpg I think this is the dial and ref in AJTT

Here are some others, one of which is mine ( the one with the polished case, unfortunately)

There were essentially 3 different dial variants for this 176.007 and the square TV shaped 176.005

    1) Yours - where the 5, 10, etc was typed onto the batons/markers
    2) the ones I posted above - where the 5, 10 etc were typed onto the dial itself, below the batons
    3) the one below - with essentially no 5, 10, etc on the dial ( apart from the 45)

All are correct - not sure which came first, if any

The dial is one of the variants and correct. The ref is a 176.007.
SImilar variations existed for the blue dials (see below 2 examples).

So possibly dozens of different variants are possible for the 007 alone - different dial colours, different hand colours (according to dial colour), different colour tachy ring ( to match the dial), different case material (SS, gold plate and 18k) and different now 4 font placements ( as discussed above - Joe K blue dial with no batons is different again to the 3 I listed earlier)

    Fascinating

I have the AJTT and it is not listed in there. Look at the markers on the photo i posted and you will see the marks have numbers on as opposed to none on the photo you posted up.

    Is this dial really rare?

Here is an example with the blue dial and numbers on the markers.

However, my guess is that this dial layout is probably not original to the 176.007. More than likely it is from a 176.010 Seamaster Yachting. Since both watch have a cal 1040 and similar case designs, the dial probably fit both.

So if I had to guess, perhaps the dial in the original post was from a gold 176.010 ? Here is a picture of what appears to be a gold-plated 176.010

That's a cool looking watch and dial! Now - is that a seal or just a bad reflection along the edge of the crystal? ::confused2::

The photo i posted of the square cased 176.005 comes from Dogens amazing vintage mainly NOS Omega collection - just search on google and prepare to dribble! - i think its a white seal on that watch

Not sure if they came out in the 70s that way though, as have never seen another with a white seal
