Hello all from the office here in Victoria BC Canada , very much appreciated all the advice I’ve has received over the years on this heirloom piece of my late father’s I’ve been attempting to restore with various degrees of success.

A brief backgrounder on it… prior to his passing my father’s wishes per his estate my younger brother Michael inherited the piece .

He admired it immensely to the degree that was his daily wearer. I remain baffled that anyone would wear a watch of any piece to a commercial shipyard, but there we are.

Inevitably, it was broken. Happily as one might expect . The bezel & spring were lost to sight in the slipway … I can only imagine the frantic search in the muck & ooze… let’s not!

Shortly after, Mike passed suddenly to our family’s dismay, a loss that will remain.

As his elder brother it fell to me & the family to settle the estate as it were & the search was on.

15 years now & it’s been a source of irritation… I’m generally good with this sort of thing but clearly it’s currently beyond my imagination or resources.

Let’s start here while I have breakfast…

Interesting to hear the story of the watch and your family, and sorry to hear about your brother.

Omega has replacement bezels for the reference. To my eye, they don't look much like the originals.

Unfortunately, there are many replicas of this reference, which means there are lots of replica bezels. To my eye, the modern omega version looks similar to replica parts, so I would just buy a replica and forget about it, and enjoy the watch.

Otherwise the condition looks pretty good to me.

I’m afraid this is incorrect. Omega does not have replacement bezels for this reference unfortunately and finding an original is very hard - perhaps one every two years comes for sale.

I collected this reference for a while and kept my eye out for any bezels I could find. I bought two spare bezels in about 5-6 years. I don’t have either now I'm afraid.

To be clear, your watch has no bezel and you are wanting one?

Quite right. No spring or bezel.

I’ll post pics of the original band too, end links.

Also, this was the inspiration I use as a spare for my SKX007K..it’s a custom Yao that’s a much better fit for me. The Seamaster is a tiny thing for this chap 😀

Aside, once I resolve this SM.. a Connie in a 42mm or so on leather gives an itch… anyone?

Is there a 42mm Connie? Perhaps modern (I’m not up on modern constellations) but certainly not vintage

Sorry for the incorrect information, I had a midsize of the model and omega had a replacement bezel. Though this was several years ago.
