Gents - looking for any oddities or issues you might find with the below Seamaster 120 (135.027) outside of the scratched/cracked crystal. The dial, case, hands and crown all look to be original and in descent shape. I don't have a shot of the movement at this time. This had been out on Ebay for a few days and I negotiated with the seller who wanted to see if go to someone who would get it back to it's working order. I searched the Private Watch Forum and really did not see a lot of recent sales for comparison. Any opinions appreciated.

I may be capt obvious here, but I wouldn't be buying a watch outside of Ebay without at least movement shots.

I am no expert on 120's, but one issue that is POSSIBLE is the cassback to the one you are listing doesn't say "waterproof". This may very well be a non-issue though.

I was a bit concerned with that as well and then saw in the above mentioned post a picture of the same case back on a 1969 SM120.

All mine have waterproof on the caseback but I'm not sure if this is always the case. Besides that the watch looks good.

With the high price of SM300's I'm surprised there isn't more interest in the SM120's. Still a cool look at a much lower entry point.

The watch arrived today so I was able to verify the movement looks in order. Picture below in case anyone sees any issues.

    Let's see some wrist shots!

Fine if you don't want to, but would you mind mentioning what you paid for it? The 120 is an intriguing watch to me.

I paid $950 for it. I figure by the time I get it serviced, new crystal and strap I’ll be in about $1350.

I hope to drop it off next week for service once my Soeedy is ready pickup.

Congratulations! I've pretty much given up on finding an affordable SM300, and prefer manual winds anyways.

A 135.027 popped up locally in the recent past (Craigslist, asking $1500), but too many other distractions at the time. This might be my year for an Omega diver.

Thanks Art. I agree, the SM300 is out of my league at the moment. Good luck on your search.

I don’t have it in hand yet, but excited to get back my SM 120. New crystal, crown, and mainspring. It also passed its water resistance test. Here is a preview shot.

    Looks great now!
I'm also a big fan of the Seamaster 120. I prefer the look of the no-date versions. I have the 165.027 with the 552 movement. It took me a while to find one in good condition. I think prices have risen and will continue to rise for this series. I find it a very elegant and versatile watch to wear - more comfortable than a SM 300 IMO.

Well done , a fine piece at a good price. "Fortune favors the brave" is not always applicable in the watch world but it did for you.

Who did you buy it from and how much did you pay for it?
