Screw down crown question

I've got a Big Crown SM60. Everything is original. When I close the crown, it only takes about 2/3rds of a turn to go from open to closed. Is this a normal amount to expect from this style watch. I've attached a pic of the crown released and another of it screwed in.

Most likely, it originally had a couple of turns, but that's what happens with wear.

Thank you. I attribute the lesser amount of turns to be from stiffening O rings inside the Crown, Does that make sense? I can feel the seal compressing as it should.

Usually this happens due to damage to the threads on the tube and/or crown. Eventually it may not screw down at all.

I’ve had a few of these and in my experience it is usually a thread issue.
