Tried random searches but not sure what ref i should look for. If it was a steel case I assume that 1236/218 would be correct.

Also tried Ofrei but the gold plated selection is very limited.

    Hello
I think your best option is to contact Ofri or look for old ads. This model is not easy to find bracelets for, when it came out, the stainless steel version was twice the price of a speedmaster more than 200 pounds in the early 70s. The fact that it is an integrated bracelet might make it more difficult to find. They also came on a leather strap but the lugs are 22mm, while the bracelet version is 12 mm. You could try contacting Omega to see it they can help but finding one us going to be a long journey. Here is a picture of mine
It was the first vintage omega I bought and I love it.

Nice watch! Very interesting that it was twice the price of a speedy.

I wonder if the ref for the gold plated version is also 196.0030? Same for the bracelet/ends. When I search for 1236/218 I find only stainless steel.

One option if you are really stuck and the stainless steel bracelet is the same ref, is to buy a SS bracelet and get it plated at a Jewlers.

The megaquartz was a very expensive movement to develop and was actually a collaboration between several companies.

Great idea. Actually got the same advice from a swedish watch forum. I am helping another guy and he is a bit worried that the bracelet will have a different color compared to the case if he proceed with that option.

If they send the watch case with the bracelet then they will be able to match them up. My understanding is that the cost depends on how many microns are used. Even if it is coated with 80 microns then it is still relatively cheap.

I think it is worth doing because finding a nice condition gold plated watch is very difficult.
I looked for a yellow gold plated version of this watch for more than two years before getting a nice example, so it will probably save a lot of time and effort to get it plated.
