Scotland Trip

My youngest is finishing his Masters degree and is in Scotland for the next week on a trip associated with his degree. He has always been fond of his watches, but never delved into the higher end autos and manuals until I began to show him things that I was seeing and learning after receiving my 52 Seamaster. He’s caught the fever. I woke up to this text sent while on his layover in Paris. Made me smile. (I suspect we’ll both have a Speedie at some point in the future).

He’ll be in Aberdeen, Scotland and will have a bit of time to explore. Any shops that are in the area that anyone could suggest?

Aberdeen recently got an Omega boutique at the Union Square shopping centre (modern complex with the train and bus station).
The main shopping street historically was Union Street (famously monikered the ‘Granite Mile’). Unfortunately it’s seen better days but the standard high street jewellers have a presence still.
For a browse, I’d recommend the independent Jamieson & Carry who stock Omega, Rolex and the odd Patek.
Shout out too to Finnies on George Street for service.

The Omega Boutique is part of a Chisholm Hunter rather than standalone, I can't say they've been that helpful.

Watches do come up in sales at John Milne but I wouldn't vouch for qaulity or provenvence.

All of the above are within a 10 minute walk in the city centre.

That’s interesting to hear regarding the boutique - I’ve yet to go in myself.

I will be in Edinburgh and Glasgow in September for a few days. It would be nice to know if there is any vintage market or shop. I'd love to bring home something from Scotland.

@Alpha may know of something. I believe he is Scottish.
