A rather great looking watch.. the auction house could not open the caseback.

Initially listed with 3 photos and just as a Speedmaster they clearly noticed a lot of interest and provided some more information and photos.

Sold for for roughly £10,300 after commission, estimated at £1000-2000.

Anyone here manage to grab it?

I think it looked like a very nice watch for a very fair final price, considering you get a 1035/6s included, barely managed to resist bidding 😁

so, originally it had an estimate of 1k-2k gbp? That would've been great! It's a lovely watch (and obviously would blow past estimate), but surely that auction house doesn't care much for watches enough to take a cursory gander at google and see how low their estimate is... 🤨

It was a small auction house and the rest of the stuff was low end jewellery. Little slips through the cracks these days though!

Thats because the small auction house features on a widely used aggregator for auction houses. I saw it too and thought 🥰 … and am honestly surprised it went for that price (I would have thought more). A fabulous piece for the money…owner should be happy as he/she clearly did very well.

Truly a great one. I was in on the bidding but hesitated there at the end and poof...

What I enjoyed about this one was the mystery. A classic basic listing. They clearly had a lot a of interest and questions so expanded on the listing but still didn’t know what they had. I wonder how the seller felt.. probably very surprised.

That was a steal. I had it on 'watch' but fell asleep on it. (Literally...). 🤦

What a buy! The dial, case and bezel on that one are top wonderful. Add in the bracelet with original end links and the buyer got a fantastic deal

great looking dial and case, but why can't the caseback be removed? Rusted in place, overtightened? Auction house can't afford Pahawi's caseback tool, Welded shut to prevent water damage by flooding in space? I guess any one's guess will do until we hear from the new owner. 😁
