FYI
I recently had two email addresses given to me by a "member' here.
The addresses are

[email protected]
[email protected]

The person (from here) who contacted me and their messages have since disappeared, so I can't give their user name. Sorry

They responded to my WTB post regarding the Speedy Hands wanted.
After several emails containing photos etc., I asked for them to call me on the phone.
They indicated in one email that they were from Indiana, and when they called it showed up as Indiana on my call display BUT the language they spoke was Asian, and it didn't fit the email profile, I then asked "what time it was" and the answer was 3 hrs off for Indiana. 1st mistake,
I then reviewed to photos they sent via "EI" and there they were, on eBay in the UK... 2nd mistake & Busted....
Be careful out there..

Edit. I found the first message, still in my email folder. Member name is " Old1farri" and "Dave Steve" lol

You need to be more aware of these arseholes.

Any PM you receive should only be responded to via PM, never by any other means unless you know the member.
Also, check the member's history. Join date, contributions etc

I received the same sort of PM a day or so ago but it was immediately obvious by reference to an email it was a scam.

By the time I got to report it the mods had already dealt with it.

I'll do better next time 馃槀 PS, FYI they were via PMs here. Not via my post.

I鈥檝e just had the same thing. I asked them to send proof of ID and they made up some bull about not being able to share due to government restrictions. Sent me AI generated images with my name against the part I鈥檓 looking for which looked fairly convincing.

The second I see an email link in a PM I know it's 99.99999999% a bullshit scam.

Don't even respond to them, just use the report button so the mods can jump on it if they already haven't.

It happens all the time - sometimes they even mix up the item in your WTB ad with someone else鈥檚 WTB ad. They leave the email address so they can communicate outside the forum as they know it鈥檚 likely they鈥檒l be removed from the forum.

Well it's good to know. I just got my 200 post credit and this was my first WTB post. Beginners luck I guess,

We've had a few of these guys recently and got to them pretty quick, but they'll keep coming. The best course of action is to hit "report" on the message itself, that way we'll get a copy of what they sent too.

Thank you. I was wondering who to contact and how. I'll look for that option if the time arises.
