At first glance this doesn't have the usual issues with fakes. Open 6 9, no stubbies etc. I'm not in the market but I'm interested to know what the red flag is on this one. Please share.

Perhaps not the watch, but the seller in this case?

The Peru MO is to steal photos of others' actual watches and try to sell them

In some cases, they actually do appear to have the watch (taking additional photos on request etc) but the key here is to look at the accounts - a recent name change and 49 recent sales of tiny things suggests it was hacked.

This rare Mil SM300 'Red' was on Ebay yesterday, with bids over €1000 with 4 days to go. It's gone now....hopefully removed to the trash.

The seller has now 4 top omega watches for sale. He also sells three speedies.

Btw. seller states in the article description for the SM300:

Watch in pre owned condition All fuction working include Chrono...

There are one or two legitimate (and fairly respected) dealers in Peru, but they have thousands if not tens of thousands of feedbacks, no ID changes, and are clearly professional in their listings. But generally you should definitely be very very careful, and do your research, when considering a watch from Peru.

That's a bit harsh. I got a nice Seiko Kakume for a very good price from Peru.

Sorry it is a bit harsh. I've just heard too many bad things about dealings and fraud in Peru. So I've personally decided to just avoid it - better safe than sorry so to speak. When 95% of what I hear is negative it's a easy decision.

I can't find the same image anywhere else on the web.

Okay, looks like the seller has changed his name dozens of times, and the current name has only sold $25 Swarofsky crystals 11 times.

Now at 2800 euros! Some people seem not to bother with even basic research.

I wonder how many reports eBay have to get on an item before they take a look at it...
