Hello all!
I have just purchased this rather (I think)beautiful Sandoz watch from a friend.
The photos are his, and the watch is still with him. It will be shipped to me tomorrow.
I have no information about the year of manufacture etc, but I can't wait to get it and find a suitable strap for it😀

I have tried to google the reference number on the back case, but google has nothing for me.
Would anybody here know anything about this model?
My friend says that the calibre is FFST 96-4, and the ref number on the back case is 1716Z-88-4 .
L2L is 41mm and the width of the watch is 35,5mm without the crown.
Its a manual wind.
I hope it is a 50´s og 60´s watch?

The Sandoz I own also has 1716Z-88-4 on the case back, so I'm not sure that's a true reference number. WIth a day/date, it has a FHF 908 movement. It's also the earlier version of that movement with the wonky day change. (Day starts changing around 9:00pm and finishes about 3:00am.) Otherwise it's a perfectly fine watch. The lume on mine is Tritium, so 1970s seems more likely for it. I've had it for awhile, and it's one of my favorite summer watches.

Thank you for your reply!
That watch was elegant!

I wonder what the meaning of 1716Z-88-4 is?

Waterproof and the style of hands suggests 60s.
Thank you Dan!
Would you think watch#1(mine) and watch#3(belonging to ghce) are both 60´s watches?

Yours certainly looks to be 60's, all the styling cues point to mid 60's though its hard to be accurate as the Henri Sandoz watches seem to have a long running design theme.
The "Waterproof" labeling means it most likely is before the late 60's where its use fell out of favour due to legal reasons.

Yes it runs very well, had it serviced about 2 years ago.
Bought it mainly for the stunning dial.
My photo doesn't do it justice, the light reflects off it in an amazing way, Sandoz is all about style!

Sounds good!
Can’t wait to get mine, due here on Thursday.

Also bought it because of the dial, I actually hadn’t heard of Sandoz before 😅

Here is a similarly dialed one to mine.

You can likely find yours represented if you google it.
I just love the dial styles, Sandoz was doing this way before any Indian redialers were even born!

Henri-Sandoz have been around a long long time here is an exquisite example of an earlier PW.

You are probably already aware of this, but it may have a "semi-quickset" data feature, where you can advance the date by moving the hands past midnight (until the date changes) then back to about 8pm and back again past midnight. If that works, it's much faster than spinning through 24 hours.

I sent the Sandoz of to a watchmaker-friend, and he sent me these pictures today.
The seems to be an AS movement, with some Sandoz detailing.
It is in good shape, not very worn😀
