Good evening OF

I’m taking a trip my family a few weeks from London to SF, popping over to Yosemite and then driving down to LA.

I’m wondering if anyone can recommend any must see vintage watch dealers in SF of LA?

Wanna Buy a Watch on Melrose here in LA is a good one to visit. Imagine you'd be site seeing in this area as well. Second Time Around is not too far from WBAW on Beverly Dr. and Feldmar on Pico has some goodies.

Remember, there are no laws against stealing, robbery, breaking and entering in California. SF has the highest smash and grab in the country. Don’t leave your stuff in site in your car. Sounds like you will be driving.

Take Highway 1 from Sf to LA.
One of the best drives in the world.
Carmel etc etc
Big Sur
Avila Beach

Sure more will chime in

While he's being sarcastic, unless you're in an affluent suburb the police will not do any work to find things stolen from you. And property crime is basically a sport in the SF Bay Area so yes, don't leave anything visible in your car. And do be sure it's insured if it's a rental (your credit card will often have you covered, if you pay with it).

Other than that, I totally absolutely recommend Feldmar as well. Best selection of new watches I've ever seen at an AD; they also have a formidable vintage & secondhand stock. Be strong though, these guys are dealing - it was super hard for me not to impulse-buy something while I was there! (Though if you're in the market, this is definitely the place to go)

This may be a bit of a stretch and depending on your schedule, you might want to check this out if you come to L.A.
The Rose Bowl Flea Market is held on the second Sunday of every month at the Historic Rose Bowl in Pasadena. There are many things to do in this area as well. Huntington Libraries is amazing. https://www.huntington.org/
The Gamble House, historic Arts and Crafts movement home designed by Greene and Greene.

Pasadena is very close to downtown L.A. (20min?) and is one of the better areas to visit.

The flea market has a fantastic antique section that includes some vintage watch vendors. It is a 3-4 hour adventure.

Better selection without question - it's about 4 or 5 times the size. In addition to many more brands, the selection within the brands is much better than anywhere else I've seen.

Topper is cool, they're very enthusiastic about watches which is great, but I have never been as impressed by a watch store as I was Feldmar.
