At least 5 Speedmasters have just been listed. Most are vintage, but one is a Hodinkee MK40. Using the old Buy It Now outside ebay. E8674A0F-7013-407A-AE75-34534B9570B2.png

I reported a couple of this seller's listings a few weeks ago. Doesn't seem to have made a difference.

Dang, that’s a scam? The font and the triple exclamation marks made it seem so trustworthy. :(

This guy just popped in a few other saved searches I have for expensive vintage photo gear- this has to be a hijacked account. If you look at past selling history, it's all inexpensive things.

    Beware!!!

Yeah, this comes up frequently with vintage Heuers too, always at the weekend it seems. I've sometimes contacted the apparent owners of the Ebay accounts too but never had a reply...hmmm..... :cautious:

I think I saw he had 545 listings? Must be computer generated. And ebay wants me to trust them with my banking and social security information in order to keep selling? They can pound sand to be polite.

The accounts are hijacked. Any info linking the original owner to his ebay account is probably long gone. I’m betting a lot of these accounts were compromised a long time ago and are just laying dormant until the hacker calls them up.

With scams that are less obvious than the above you can still lose money even with the eBay money back guarantee.
I bought a watch from the USA via eBay paid via PayPal but when I got my refund it was £220 short due to the PayPal currency exchange rate £-$ at the time, so its called money back guarantee but I still lost £220 so it doesn't feel like a guarantee of my money back at all.
Both eBay and PayPal both blamed each other but it is a loophole I have not noticed before.
Just thought I would warn folks.
    Cheers, Michael

This same sack has been going on for quite some time now. They are always hacked accounts. Same MO. I have corresponded with the folks before and they of course want a wire transfer.
