Salvatore ferragamo vs tag heuer

I think the tag has a better overall design than the other one. The first one has too many things going on, sporty look with dress strap. Would have been better on a rubber stap. It is not a very coherent overall design. It will look dated very quickly. At the end of the day if it's the one you love then get it no matter what anyone else says.

Neither. I'd save the money on this one. Or move up and get the Hamilton panda.
I saw the Hamilton Panda and it is amazing! Theres also blue dial brown strap.

I agree. If you can get the Hamilton Panda for the same price, do it.

The Tag and Ferragamo have the same base ETA quartz movement. There are different grades, though.

I think you will have regrets with both wishing you had thought it through more.

Picky picky, but, I stand corrected.
But visit, Tag Heuer website and they state, I quote, "Since 1860, TAG Heuer has embodied avant-garde, precision and bold style, that have marked the world history of the watch industry. We invite you to explore our legacy, through our timepieces and innovations."

It's not really that picky...

Tag was a company that starting selling and servicing airplanes in Saudi Arabia in 1977 but incorperated in Switzerland for obvious reasons ... buy 1983 in 6 short years they had enough money to go racing in F1... in 1985 they purchased at the height of the quartz crises Heuer watches for virtually nothing. By this time Brietling has been out of business for 5 or 6 years and was just being planned to be relaunched with very little actual ties to the original company, they did not and still do now own the rights to the original Navitimer as they sold it off in 1978 to Helmut Sinn.

Longines and Omega/Tissot where also purchased by Swatch group at this time as they were flush with money from Swatch sales, and they literally saved Swiss watchmaking with cheap quartz fashion watches.

SO TLDR Tag is not Hueur....

Ok... we will agree to disagree. I see your point, but even the company Tag Heuer in their own website mention the legacy of their timepieces, which, I guess, is technically incorrect actually?

Heuer has a history of watches, Tag purchased them and does not have a history in watches, Tag Heuer does have a purchased history. Tag and Tag Heuer are not the same thing.

Ok... I concede, your point is taken and accepted. Tag and Tag Heuer are not the same thing.

Why do you keep your worms in a ball instead of a can?

I would go for tag heuer but if you can stretch your budget get the iconic model with mechanical movement and youll never regret it. Thats just me but of course you still have the last card. Cheers

i dont get why there is a different treatment betweem TAG’s purchase of Heuer and Swatch’s purchase of Omega.

is it because TAG changed the name to TAG Heuer? Is it because Swatch is also a company primarily engaged in watches?

had swatch changed name to Swatch Omega, would that make it akin to your view of TAG Heuer and Heuer?

I don’t say Swatch has a history of watchmaking going back over 100 years. Nor does omega have a history of cheap disposable fashion watches.

so it’s the name change.

because the juridical entity is the same. That’s why they claim the history.

ftom what i understand it’s the same swiss company founded in 1860. But renamed by TAG when it bought a controlling stake. When LV bougjt it, it decided to maintain the present name
Instead of either reverting to the original name or making a new one.

but essentially it’s the same entity. Like the Golden State Warriors claiming a history starting in Philadelpbia despite the various ownership changes and city transfers. It’s still the same entity.

i agree TAG is not TAG Heuer. TAG used to own TAG Heuer.

but Heuer and TAG Heuer are the same. Two different names of the same entity.

just like Muhammad Ali is the same person born and christened Cassius Clay. The birthdate of Ali is the same as Cassius.

When I first saw this thread, I thought," Does Tag Heuer make shoes?"
I agree, Ferragamo is a fashion brand and Tag has a watch making history dating back to the mid 19th century. Of course the French
luxury goods conglomerate LVMH, now owns most of TAG. That being said, I too, like the TAG better as a watch, but, part of me was hoping maybe, just maybe, you'd be willing to go a little farther and consider ....... ok, maybe not, but the Monaco is a Tag Heuer classic icon.

I think it’s clear which one you should buy shoes from...😲

When people say “Tag” when speaking of watches, isn’t it at this point obvious they’re speaking common shorthand for “Tag Heuer”? 👎

Who knew? I was joking about the Tag Heuer shoe comment. So , I did a little search... don't know if they are made by the brand, but why not, if you can't afford a Patek Philippe on your wrist put one on your foot, unless it's a $45,000 pair of tennis shoes. If that's too rich, try a pair of Rolex sneakers.
