I saw a FB ad come up for an auction of this Rolex from the Salvation Army who claims their jeweler confirmed it’s authentic. Curious to see what others here think (as some in the comments say it’s fake). https://www.shopthesalvationarmy.co...ZRaQ3pYkjrjaZMPKgAJ-tlBq2QaisZ3GQHfxSUvfUQhHt Photos for posterity.
You can google this watch yourself. You can get a knock off for $600. (and that IMO is what it is) …this reinforces my already low opinion of this organization.
Last time I bought one of these I was offered a bootleg copy of Debbie Does Dallas with my purchase. Man I do miss the old days of shopping for Rolex on South Street in Philly on the sidewalk.
124 bids and currently at $8,050.00... Gotta wonder if it's people just bidding up for the fun of it.
Praise the lord and pass me that fake Rolex……or …I gave money to the Salvation Army and all I got was this fake Rolex.
I’m no Rolex expert but it looks so janky from the pictures. Was not interested in bidding anyways based on price and condition, but I figured would be nice to keep here for posterity reasons in the future.
Part of my family was SA some are also Quaker (friends). Many of the early photographs of my G-grandmother (who I knew as a child) are of her in uniform. She liked to keep scrapbooks, and would sing the old SA songs to me. Part of the reason they came west was over doctrinal issues so the family went ME. I always found it interesting how there is so much emphasis on the donation side of things. I have also notice fewer walk in surplus stores and more bell ringers. I did browse about the SA website, but there does not seem to be a way to list single watches like on GW. Most of the sales are by lot. Might be fun to get a junk SA watch to go with my 1.37 LBs of useless GW chronographs. (most which do not have working pushers.)
