Just curious... This is at a $150 starting bid. It looks beat up. The bracelet has ridiculous stretch and the bezel insert is ouch.

But if you bought this, how would you go about salvaging it? Would you? Could you? Is it worth it for say $175 top bid?

Are bezels for this piece even available? They do not appear to be offhand and a solid gold bezel is going to cost hundreds. Could the bezel insert be repaired? Repainted?

Just curious about your thoughts since you guys know way more than I do. A piece like this would make a nice High School graduation gift for my niece, if given some restoration work. She is only 13 so it could be done whenever or slowly.

Feel free to tell me I'm nuts. Save me from myself if I need to be.

It might be smarter to just buy this one instead. Needs minimal work (I think I'd replace the hands).

This is the beat up one...

Shouldn't the bracelet be gold plated in the middle links ? .

I've seen them both ways. I think the gold links were an upgrade.

Right. Many of the gold bezelled versions had all steel bracelets.

I think you should go for the last one . It looks to be in really nice condition . Could be they have brushed the case . At least it looks that way .

Yes, likely. I'd have it serviced anyway and ask it to be brought back to the proper brushed finish. The issue is it will only fit up to a 6 inch wrist. No extra links. They are hard to come by and expensive to boot.
