This one is going above GBP1,000 now, wow! I wonder how the economics work out ultimately. I see $1,000+ (and who know ultimately how much) worth parts needing replacement. Plus the dial, hands and other furniture of course! Would have been a decent buy at 500 GBP, not so sure anymore.

For the historical record:



I'm a little blown away by this. No room for repairs and parts. A decent example, (including reasonable dial) in a case in that condition, is maybe $3700 to $4200.

Remember that $3700 is £3700 if you shipped and imported into the uk. If it’s been won by a watchmaker then it could be a relatively cheap restoration, redial from DR Bill etc

uk import tax and vat is based on price paid plus shipping cost. Assume $100 to ship to uk. When it lands with customs they will apply import tax, vat and handling charges. With the current exchange rates the costs of those taxes and shipping pretty much equate to the $:£ exchange rate. You might get lucky and avoid import taxes but anything I’ve bought from the US has always been hit with charges.
