Hi All,
Having returned the last watch, as discussed here, my search continues.
I have come across this and the seller has the receipt for the service and dial refresh in 1987...
Would love to know your thoughts on this one. Sorry of photos are not of high resolution. Regards

Wow that is really horrible. You are saying UG did the service/redial? If so that is crazy.

Perhaps first some homework by yourself… Find 10 22539’s and place pics of the dials next to each other.

Honestly. I’m always happy to help but you and a few other recent posters are so off track! This is garbage. Yes you need to accept the fact that your budget is too low.

I do not have a fixed budget, but looking around and hoping to learn a bit from others who are experts, as there is rather little information freely available on these watches, unlike other watches that I own. What intrigued me was the refurbishement by UG with a paper trail to prove it. I wondered what the expert opinion on that was. I dont see how increasing my budget might increase my knowledge, but then again maybe it is not here that I should be learning. I will continue to look around and piece the information I need together, before posting here.

I dont think there is ANYTHING identical between these 2 dials but for the very basic layout things…

The UG sub is full of discussions and pictures spend some time browsing the threads, use the search feature. Sala is a worthy investment if you can find a copy is a worthwhile investment. Slow down. The watches will be there. Understand that the lions share of collector grade watches are in collections and not likely to leave as UG is now an active brand under the Breitling umbrella. Prices are not going down either. We’ve seen this before. People slapping together disparate parts and flogging garbage to the unwary

Thank you I appreciate the advice. You are right, maybe I am too impatient.

Cristal clear now, but I just could not tell which dials that I was looking at were in fact original.

Here's another comparison (this one has applied numerals, but just ignore that). For one thing the redial doesn't even say "Tri Compax" on it. And the UG is inside the date circle. And the date circle has rail tracks and overlaps the day/month windows, and some of the subdials are not centered, or overlapping, and all the fonts are wrong, and the print quality is terrible, etc, etc, etc

thanks, and the day month windows into the date circle.

Think I have posted that letter before. Took long because the dial was very hard to replicate 😎::facepalm1::

At least they only charged $60. (Actually that's $292 today, I guess it's still a decent amount of money).
