Rubberized leather straps for people who sweat a lot

I'm thinking about putting on a rubberized leather strap on my Speedmaster to change up the look. I sweat a lot in the summer so regular leather straps don't really do it for me. Does anyone else have this problem?

yes - Rubber B and Everest are great alternatives. they are designed for Rolex but others have found one or more that works for the Speedmaster. Omega may have an older OEM version as well

Also check out sailcloth style straps with rubbersied underlayers. They can look smarter than the obvious sporty feel of an all rubber strap.

I have the same problem. Toxic Nato do a decent rubber strap, I think, called the Toxic Magnum. Most of time I wear a Speedy on a Kizzi strap, sweating doesn't matter then.

Hirsch makes some really nice ones - the Arne and the Robby. The rubber backing is quite comfortable, and the leather front is “waterproofed” so will take some immersion in water with no damage. I think the Robby would look very nice on a Speedmaster.

Other options I have tried and like are the Rios1931 Hydrophopic leather and the Hirsch Mariner.

I heard that the fit is almost identical for Rubber B on some Rolex and Omega models. Although I personally think that a Speedmaster on a Rubber B strap looks weird.

There are a few pics on this forum and I agree they don’t look like they were designed with the speedy in mind

Here’s the Hirsch “James” on my PO

Edit: decided to put in on the speedy since that’s the watch in question

Looks great! Do you feel the ridges on your skin from the rubber backing?

I did feel them in a very uncomfortable way. They allways left an imprint on my skin.

What's the part # for this strap?

Indeed, Hirsch was my first thought, they do have quite wide range of such straps.

And you can always speak to your strapmaker. As far as I know it it not a problem to do a custom strap with leather linning which has been impregnated to WR100.

I personally don’t feel the ridges and think it’s fairly comfortable.

That’s not good, you need new skin.

Just ordered the Hirsch James for my Seamaster 300 MC -- I'd never seen that one before and it looks like a perfect option. I know it only comes in 22mm (not 21mm), but I've fit a 22mm Hirsch Robby on it with no problems. I'll post a picture when I get it!

I am a big fan of Hirsch straps myself, i like Mariner, Ascot and Osiris line. But this James was the worst strap i ever had from comfort point of view. And it never got softer.

My Hirsch performance strap leaves the same indentations on my skin if I cinch it too tight, but I still find it comfortable. I have the same problem with any strap or bracelet that gets tight from my wrist swelling.

Well obviously every stap leaves an imprint if worn too tight. However this one is different!
In my opinion this strap lacks curvature which e.g. leather normally forms to the shape of the arm after wearing for some time.
After wearing this strap for few weeks it was still perfectly straight and didnt curve around the arm, and consequently too tight on the sides of the arm, (but surely not too tight overall).
I even tried to shape it, by using hot wated. But in the end i didnt like the feel of it.

I have a modern omega ruber strap on my Seamaster now, and it has pre-curved shape, so it hugs perfectly around the wrist without leaving any marks, well worth the money in my opinion.

I was worried about something like this based on the design. I don't think I swell too much when it gets hot but marks on my wrist from a strap like that is definitely not appealing.
