This watch is going off soon on eBay. Not really interested in the watch, but have started looking at watches there to hone my evaluation skills. Appears to be rotor scrubbing issue and is visible on multiple pics. Am I right?

The wear on the rotor is not really the “problem”. It is a symptom of a problem, or maybe two or three problems. One: possibly a worn rotor bearing gear. Two: possibly a broken rotor post. Three: may be loose screws on the rotor post. The watch has possibilities in my opinion. If the watch sells, someone has bought your problem. Same as if you buy on line………you may be buying someone else’s problem! Stick with the devil you know!

The upper screw in the rotor bridge. Is it flat or domed

Turn the watch over and see how much the rotor drops

Would if I could. Not my watch, but one I was scoping out on eBay as I look at watches to see if I can begin to see problems that all of you see with your talented mastery.

Just to mention, the rotor rub is visible all along the edge of the rotor, it is just more dramatic in that spot. You will not normally see it that extreme. More typically, the plating will just be damaged right along the edge. You can also look for a matching circular wear pattern inside the case-back.

Best case Four: loose case screws.
