    Hey guys,

What are your thoughts on this model in general? I like the 'retro' look and it is a two-tone that i can actually see my self enjoying, where as normally i steer far away as i think it looks gaudy.

There is one that is available locally through eBay (local pickup/cash on pickup) and i'm a little on the fence. I like the retro look of it, but not sure if i'm only interested because I may be able to get it for a deal.

I have asked for more/clearer photo's but nothing so far.

    Cheers,
    Ed

The root bear is a fantastic classic. You don't see it much on the wrist although Clint Eastwood made it quite popular back in the day on several of his movies.

As for this example cannot comment at all as the pictures are absolutely out of focus

Love the RootBeers. As mentioned pics are not good to comment on the condition.
    Here is a picture of a 1675 and a 16713.
Difficult to tell the difference from the 1675 since your example also has the nipple dial.

Thanks for the replies, I agree the pictures of the listing are terrible! Really hoping I can get some clearer ones sent through.

@TTG those look mighty fine! Really swaying me on the TT

I am not a big fan of the 16753 with the black face but with the brown, all systems say go... + quickset feature.
I like the 1675 as I have both the black and brown dials, easily obtainable, if you get tired of one color.
Price is also a factor to consider, Good Luck!!!

I feel any gilt nipple dial is worth pursuing. Not a huge fan of brown dials but this is such a collectible piece [emoji1417]

If brown suits your skin tone and style, definitely make the time to investigate.

Much prefer them without the TT bracelets too. Bracelet is mostly responsible for the Bling.

This is my rather boring black version. IMG_1463.JPG

My 1675 is still a keeper. Also much admired on "watch outings" 1675-8-.jpg Root3.jpg

Recently fell for this two-tone '80s porn thing after seeing one in real life for the first time. Bought one in the US which will arrive next week, can't wait to put it on. Highly recommended. Make sure you got the glossy dial, it has fantastic colours depending on the angle and light.

It really is a watch that comes alive in person. It's very organic... of that makes sense

...and don't be shy about the jubilee, it underlines the style of the period and it looks awesome.

    Still not good enough pictures.
When you ask for pictures, you want to see the angles of the lugs to check the thickness.
Ask about service history, if unknown, take that into consideration on the price.
The bracelet, you want to see the scrolls and any reference numbers, as well as the end links.
If the price is right, you can overlook some of the finer details, slap it on the wrist, and enjoy!

The seller is a bit hard to communicate with, but I will endevour for clearer pictures.

He states he purchased it in 1993 (?secondhand) and it has been serviced in his care. I might be able to snag it at around $5000aud, with box and potentially papers (again waiting on a reply)

If my conversion table is right, that is a very good deal! If it has papers, icing on the cake.
    Good luck!

The 1675/3 should be right up everyone's ally here at OF, it has an applied logo!! All kidding aside they are beautiful watches and generally cost much less than their SS brothers.

Go to Bobs watches to see their offerings and prices. 5K seems pretty good!

From the vague photo's i can see that it is not an applied logo, so it seems to be the later rendition with the quickset function (i think?). Anyway I'll see how everything goes and report back. But at the moment i think i will risk it (for the biscuit)
