http://www.ebay.com/itm/261732511253Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network I've been on the lookout for a 80s or 90s 861 speedy lately and prices from reputable sellers seem to be around $2500. But I saw an early 70s 861 on the 'bay with a reasonable starting bid ($1700 or $1900 I can't remember). The pictures were pretty terrible and the seller didn't offer much information so I wasn't sure it was worth the risk. But for some reason (a couple of beers I think) I bid on it and went to bed. When I woke up I checked my phone and I had a sinking feeling in my stomach. I had won, which means I had probably bid too much since a lot of people smarter than me passed on it. It just arrived today and I am pleasantly surprised. Despite the hack job by Omega (service dial & hands, light polish) and the horrible aftermarket bracelet it's actually in pretty decent shape. It will serve my needs, which is to keep my 321 on a lighter rotation. The bonus is the 1039 that came with it. It's in really nice shape and not all stretched out like it looked in the photos. Now I need to find someplace to service it since my favorite Canadian is backed up. Jim
It's a 145.022-69 that was purchased in 70 or 71. The caseback isn't pretty. I don't mind the scratches but it looks like someone tried to remove the logo with a belt sander. Sorry about the phone pics, I'll take better shots when I get it back from servicing.
Belt sander? That's some sort of grinder Still an awesome find! Show the movement when you get the back off, please.
