    Hello Friends,

Selling my Rolex Submariner with a meters first matte dial. Serial number is 176XXXX which dates this watch back to 1967.
The dial surface is nearly flawless and the yellow patina on the hands, pearl, and plots match throughout. Plots are nice a puffy and have not been relumed. White edges around the plots/markers help to indicate that it hasn't been relumed. The watch however still retains a bit of lume which is correct for watches from this period. You really have to blast the dial with a lot of light to get the effect but the lume itself fades almost immediately. Hands have no corrosion or pitting.

The case is only ever so slightly polished and still retains it's thickness and sharp chamfers, chamfers are evident on all four lugs. I would rate the level of polish a solid 8.5/10 with 10 being unpolished. Lugs are nice and thick as well. Comes with the original twinlock crown.
The correct mark II insert has faded to a nice blue hue and in great condition with very minor scruffs. Pearl is intact with matching patina.
The watch currently comes on a service crystal but I will be happy to include a modern domed crystal/t19.
The watch was serviced in April of 2015 so the movement is keeping excellent time and the bezel rotates nicely.
Comes with a 93150 bracelet in good condition with not too much stretch, 10 links total.

I am active on many forums so I can certainly provide references on request. Please feel free to ask any questions or ask for more pictures (I'm not the greatest picture taker), I would be happy to help.

Price is $9300 and includes insured shipping via Fedex. Wire transfer preferred.

Text me at 203-376-9335 or email me at [email protected] for more questions. I'm surprised this one isn't selling. Such a great example.

which condition? No offence but what make the condition of this one so good? (just for my knowledge..because first think i see are those non matching and green-like hands compare to the dial)

Well, for your own knowledge I can tell you you should worry more when the hands match the dial perfectly. Hands and dial tritium are normally from different sources and rarely do they age the same way. However looking for or making matching hands is a very common occurrence as buyers like you focus on that.

Not debating price, that's for the seller and future buyer to determine, but this example looks like it's a very god condition original dial hands and crown with little polishing and a blue bezel, probably also original. If it is all that, then it is above the average 5513.

In the photos where the hands and dial have better light, they match quite well, IMO. I think in the other photos there's reflection and shadow intervening.

I'm not a Rolex guy, but this one looks pretty nice to me!...

Not my sale and not my concern really, I'm only commenting on the watch, which is great. I don't think it's up to us to determine the price, or question it. It's not polite.

I've serviced a number of single owner watches (bought new by the people who sent them to me) and they had perfectly matching hands - these aren't collectors or people who bought through a dealer, but honest watches. So although I agree in general that there are far more hands that are matched after the fact, some do age together perfectly, including my own 1680.

    Cheers, Al

For sure Al, just trying to make the point that no matching hands are often just right, as often or more than matching. Now if one does have the fortune to have a good original matching that is certainly a plus.

I think the pricing on these is so subjective, each example is at least slightly different from the next with respect to dial and case condition, matching of all lume, etc. Jacek has a couple of similar (1967 meters first) 5513s at the moment, one with B&P, so you can make comparisons. In general the prices on 5513s have been going up recently. I have been surprised when I thought a watch was "too expensive", yet it sold quickly. It's just the market these days.

The man asks what he asks - it's not like you'll be prosecuted for making an offer lower than his asking price, is it?
