Hi guys, I have for sale a full set 8.4 serial 16800 matte dial in great conditions, with a strong case and a perfect dial with a beautiful patina. Serial dates back to 1984 and the dial is a fantastic example of the rare transitional matte dial that you can find in the first few years of production of the reference 16800. The watch was sold at the historical Rolex authorized dealer 'Hausman & Co' in Rome in 1984 and it comes with box and punched warranty papers. The watch is original in every parts and runs well keeping good time. This Rolex Submariner Ref. 16800 is a great transitional piece that combines the best elements of both the vintage and modern Rolex Submariner: updated movement with a quick-set date function, sapphire crystal, unidirectional bezel, higher depth indication of 1000ft/600m along with a vintage aesthetic that includes black matte dial with tritium lume plots and hands (as can also be found in the previous variant the Ref 1680) in the early production. CASE: The case is even and thick, unpolished in my opinion. Serial and reference number are fully visible. Original 16800 caseback. BEZEL INSERT: Original Rolex insert in very good conditions DIAL: The dial is an original matte variant with a creamy patina even on all plots and all lettering is clearly visible and correct. The hands are tritium and match perfectly to the dial. Tritium is original and was checked with UVA light. Dial shows no chips around the rehault and no scratches. BRACELET: The bracelet is the original 93150 with 593 endings in mint conditions Clasp is also original to the watch and the code matches the year of the serial. CRYSTAL: Sapphire crystal in excellent conditions. MOVEMENT: Correct 3035 caliber running well. SET: The watch comes with the full set: the original Rolex box, the Rolex warranty certificate (punched papers), the Rolex warranty holder (green folder) with serial number and reference sticker.
