Rolex Submariner 124060 'Eye Candy'

This is not a review and I know that we all saw our fair share of Rolex Sub shots. One of the, if the most popular sport watches out there has been a fan favorite for many years. It's tough, bulletproof, water resistant to chest-crushing depths, and (unfortunately) today one of the most popular members of board room meetings.

I've been always a fan of the Sub, actually, it was the first watch I ever started to look deeper into when I got into watches, but for some reason, I never pulled the trigger. To my eyes, it was, and still is, so perfect as an everyday watch that it's boring. 5 series was cool but I dreamed of having 4 series, 6 series first gen was too chubby but this one...man they did this one just right.

That one millimeter extra in endlink width and one millimeter less in lugs thickness made a huge difference in my eyes, and the case sits so comfortably on the wrist.

cal 3235 is super sensitive as the second hand reacts on a single turn of a crown. But they still haven't figured out the slipping on the crown from position 0 to time setting (same as last gen date/gmt movements)

Anyway, got some time with this watch and you know me, I had to pull my camera out. So here are some eye candy shots, hope you like them

Cheers team!

Great shots. I’d still love to have a small-bodied vintage Sub, but as modern watches go this one is very good … especially after it gets a bit lived in, scratches and all.

First shot is interesting. The lume in the hands is emitting, but not the dial.

One of the best modern Rolex ever! These feel much more durable than its predecessors and gives respect to them. No date all the way!

Great pictures... something I'm not good at... what camera do you use? Please tell me it's not an iphone, otherwise I'm not worthy.

I recently picked up one of these and it is so comfortable, you would not even know it is there. It wears with a low profile and the adjustable clasp is a dream.

Great watch and some impressive photos. A 5 digit sub was my first great watch. I loved its Bond heritage, but once it became my daily wearer, I made it my own. Took it everywhere for about 5 years. I sold mine before the shortage, and by the time I thought to get the newer model, they were gone from the ADs.

I refuse to reward the gray dealers for creating the shortage we are in today, so I won't own another Sub until I can buy it from an AD.

Again, thank you guys!!!

Great pictures... something I'm not good at... what camera do you use? Please tell me it's not an iphone, otherwise I'm not worthy.

I use Canon 750D paired with Canon 60mm Macro f:2.8 lens about 90% of the time. But camera is not that important, only the light and glass (lens)

Here are some of the behind-the-scenes shots of how these photos came to be.
Pretty simple yet effective setup:

I really liked my 124060, but found the watch and especially the clasp too bulky for my preferences. The bezel action was amazing and the 3230 was keeping excellent time for the few months I had it. Currently waiting on a call for a 124270.

Excellent shots.
Just to blow our minds, can you put up a set with a camera phone.
Stunning. As always.

Haha, thanx dude. I honestly don't take shots with my phone, I only use it from time to time to scan a document or maybe to shot something that would be interesting to show others.

Brilliant, you give Rolex's advertisement photos a run for their money.
