I was watching this one and it was poorly advertised and flew below radar in my opinion. Hammer price was $5500. Add 22% premium and another 13% tax and it was just south of $7600 Canadian.

I did not want to create a thread before it closed in case one of our own OF member was eying it.

Bezel “pip” missing and on leather strap but a decent deal. What do you think?

@Duracuir1 - thanks for not mentioning it before close as I was looking at this. But ultimately had some concerns about lume and the case being overly polished so I decided to not move ahead with the purchase. But someone found themselves a pretty good deal.

A perfect Sub beater...just wear it without worry. It's just an old watch and that is what they are for...to use.

Thank you Dan. I did not know it was the same watch.
The cheap leather strap was my giveaway and went back to the auction page and saw the dots on the lume and put 2+2 together. Looks we we have another member in your hunting ground.

But again- with eyes open, knowing the issues vs value. At that price it is what is-live with it or pay to have the case laser welded and dial relumed (which would put you up to about the cost of one in good shape).
But the OP on the other thread wanted other eyes on it to know what those issue were and made the decision to pass (wisely IMO) as it wasn’t in the condition he was looking for.

I didn't look at it in person so can't say, but the Air King in the same auction was a hot mess. Corroded dial markers, did not run and the crown was frozen solid.
Seems that the seller had quite the array of nice and not so nice pieces. The Speedy was missing the reset pusher because it was frozen too. I think that one went for a bit too much.

I would think that the chances of actually getting a great deal on a Rolex in an online auction are very slim at this point. Too many eyes on them at any given time.

Thanks @Duracuir1 for the PM heads up about this one. I’m trying to stay focused on a Reverso. But so much eye candy out there!
