The redial strap...

That is not nice, even if you think it you should not say it he did not ask for an opinion on the dial.

Either a brown or black leather will do. Try both and one will become your favorite. Nice watch. 馃憤

It is indeed not nice..

However any normal poster would ask: which strap would fit my watch?

The op mentions Rolex in his title and 18k Rolex in his text.. Don't like bragging people..

See I got 4 likes on my post. If the post was that rude I think I would not have been liked at all..

This problem is people could be put off posting pics of their watches on the forum for the fear others will ridicule them if imperfections are there. This still applies even if saturn1981 does not own the watch as he did not state he owned it or he did not. Have you noticed when newbies come up here many not all are scared to say I purchased this watch from ...... nowadays it has always been passed down as a gift.

A different way of looking at it would be to say that 120 people have seen this thread, so roughly 4 percent of the people viewing liked your post.

I don't see any bragging at all. If that is your opinion the margin for posting a picture of your watch without showing off has just gotten very small. But lets drop this and get back to the OP. In my opinion a dark brown ostrich or alligator strap would be perfect.

This forum is bigger than you and me. It is about learning from other members, doing homework, enjoying watches. This watch may belong to Saturn 1981 it may not, but who ever it belongs to do you have to throw it in their face regarding the watch being a redial? Not only are you doing this you are collecting likes to justify your 4% or is it 5% now rating.

It has been handed down by father so it has sentimental value. I don't know if my watch has a redial.
It doesn't matter if has a redial or not i will treasure it.
All that i'm asking is what colour of strap goes best with my watch. Yes there is a rolex movement in my watch. cal.1210

Good for you Saturn1981, enjoy your father's watch. Perhaps a nice dark brown leather strap? Perhaps calf or croc leather, one of them two is good.

If we had a "don't like" or perhaps a "don't be a turd" button, you may have gotten a few more hits......

They kind off went off topic lol. As for the strap gold can be a real pig to match if u are going with a metal bracelet, rather go leather, a nice dark brown with a touch if red worked for me on a Tudor 14k.

I'd likely earn a few turd ratings myself.

I do take offence to those who are nasty just for the sake of being nasty though, we have enough of that in this world without it sliding into our hobby. (or addiction)

Perhaps the moderators could start a separate site for turds..... where they could merrily snipe at each other all day and compare Timex quartz watches from the privacy of Mom's basement.

I don't think its at all rude to point out that it's a redial. The OP doesn't say in the first post whether he owns the watch or is considering it, so pointing out anything that affects collectability or value on a collecting forum, as long as its done politely is fine.

The problem comes when people start making a mountain out of a molehill and make one comment into a big issue, which takes over the thread, when it didn't need to

In response to OP, I'd also go with brown leather or possibly gator.
