·Hi guys,
I have for sale a 6.1 serial Rolex Sea-Dweller ref.1665 in great conditions, with a fantastic case, a MK1 dial with killer pumpkin patina and a beautiful grey faded insert.
This particular example of the Sea-Dweller ref. 1665 follows the ten-year production of the Double Red Sea-Dweller ref. 1665, from 1967 to 1977.
Keeping the same reference number, it introduced a range of new features produced for a short period of 5 years, with the current example having been manufactured in 1979-80.
The most notable difference was the replacing of red text on the dial with white writing, hence the nickname ‘Great White’, bestowed upon it by collectors.
This particular Sea-Dweller ref. 1665 features a MK1 matte dial, identified by the fact that the edges of the first two lines of text at 6 o'clock line up. Further, it includes an 'open 6' instead of a closed one, which is consistent with the dial variation and the production year of the watch.
The watch is original in every parts and runs well keeping good time.
CASE:
Even and thick case.
Serial and reference number are fully visible.
Original 1665 caseback.
Original Helium escape valve
BEZEL INSERT:
Original Rolex MK3 insert with a beautiful grey fading in mint conditions.
DIAL:
The dial is an original dial Mk1 variant with a beautiful pumpkin patina even on all plots and all lettering is clearly visible and correct.
The hands are tritium and match perfectly to the dial.
Tritium is original and was checked with UVA light.
Dial shows no chips around the rehault.
BRACELET:
The bracelet is the original 93150 with 585 endings in great conditions with 12 links and the clasp code (VE) matches the serial.
MOVEMENT:
Correct 1570 caliber running well.
'Open 6' data disc.
The movement was serviced 4 years ago according to the previous owner.
Asking 18500 Euro, insured shipping included.
Payment method - I will accept Paypal and bank wire.
Plenty of international references.
